Men's Campus
Two Men's Programs
The Recovery Center is an innovative sober housing program for single men. In operation since October 2007, the Recovery Center serves 30 men in ten two-bedroom, two-bath apartments for three–six months. The program was created to fill a community void for emergency supportive housing. Specifically, the therapeutic model supports the need for shelter and making positive behavioral change for the residents.
The program offers housing and targeted personalized services designed to address the issues that led to the resident’s homelessness. These services include shelter, food, case management, drug and alcohol services, bus passes, clothing, computer training, and employment assistance. In addition, individual and group counseling are provided through collaboration with another local program called Partners for Change.
Joshua House is a permanent supportive housing program providing long-term, community based housing and support services for single, homeless men with a history of substance abuse. Ninety-one percent of Joshua House residents are also chronically homeless. The men, in partnership with staff, concentrate their efforts on stabilizing their sobriety and developing an economic action plan to assist them in their journey from homelessness to economic independence. Targeted personalized services help participants achieve greater self-determination. On-site individual and group counseling are provided on a weekly basis to help residents gain needed confidence to make the transition out of homelessness. In addition, each resident are encouraged to obtain employment, attend school, or participate in a job-training program within 60 days of admission.
